The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Peggy Lloyd of the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives on Tuesday July 23rd. Lloyd spoke to the club on what is now Hempstead County Road 46. The road was once part of a major road between Washington and Camden. The road runs between Washington and the present-day “Hapi Gro” Farm. Only a small part of the road is still in the present day road networks. Lloyd explained the road’s importance during the Civil War era.
