August 6, 2015

The Hope Kiwanis Club Bar B Que Chicken supper will be held at the Fair Park Community Center Thursday August 6th from 4:30pm to 7pm.  Eat-in or take-out.  Cost is $9 per person.  Tickets are available from any Kiwanis Club member.  Proceeds fund local Hope Kiwanis projects.

 

August 7, 2015

The Hope Lions Club will hold their annual fish and chicken dinner at the Watermelon Festival on Friday August 7th.  Serving will be from 4:30pm to 7pm.  Take outs will be available just off Jones Street near Lady Cat Field.  Admission is $12 for adults and take-outs.  Childrens meals are $6 but these are available as eat-in only.  All proceeds benefit local Lions projects.

The monthly singing at the Okay Community Baptist Church near Saratoga is Friday August 7th starting at 6:30pm.  There will be a potluck supper.  For directions and info phone 388-9200.

The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee on Wednesday August 12th will be hosted by the Hempstead County United Way to kick off their 2016 drive.  The Coffee is set for 9:30am until 11am at the Chamber office.

Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Church will have Vacation Bible School starting Aug. 12 – 14 from 5:00 pm till 7:30 pm. Everyone is invited. On Saturday, Aug. 15th there will be a back to school bash from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm. School supplies will be given first come first served. Games, food, and a good time for all!  All this will take place on lacation.

The Charity Baptist Church at Fulton will be in revival August 12th through 14th at 7pm each evening.  August 12th the speaker will be El Roy Stewart of Tollete, the 13th the speaker will be Billy Roberts of Union Baptist Church of Fulton, and on Friday August 14th the speaker will be Johnny Stuart of Nashville.  The public is invited.

The Brotherhood of Fulton and Galilee Baptist Church of Hope (in the Evening Shade Community) will hold a benefit program for Charles Horton on August 15th at 6pm at Galilee Baptist Church. The program starts at 6pm.  Choirs are invited to perform.  For info contact Jessie Henry at 896-2581.

The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting for Christus Family Medicine-Hope on Tuesday August 18th. The new clinic is located at 100 East 20th, Suite D. The ribbon-cutting is set for 10:30am and the public is invited.

The monthly old-time/gospel/Country/bluegrass musical is Tuesday August 18th at 6pm at the Saratoga Community Building.  There will be refreshments.  For info call Archie “Chief” Phillips at 580-306-5433

The Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce Community Coffee on Wednesday August 19th will be hosted by the Women of Hope. The Coffee is set for 9:30am until 11am at the Chamber office.

 

ONGOING EVENTS:

Weight Watchers meets each Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. on 2nd floor of the Co-op building on campus of UACCH.

Special Touch Living Hope host a bible study design to enrich the lives of people with disability, every third Monday of each month, at the Fair Park Community Center in Hope, at 6:30 pm.

First Baptist Church of Prescott will be starting a Children’s Club for grades K-4 each Wednesday night at 6:30, there will be singing, Bible study, and other fun activities.
